Rachel Lowell is one of the finalists in this year’s L-Għanja tal-Poplu Festival with the song “Professuri”

Rachel will interpret the song ‘Professuri’ in the 44th edition of L-Għanja  tal-Poplu .  The Song Professuri is co written and produced by Emil Callejja Bayliss, Philip Vella and Rachel Lowell.

The song  is about those people who seem to know about every subject possible, from infectious diseases, to what the newspapers write, to even  frivolous rumours. It’s good that everyone has an opinion, but an opinion should only be an opinion. It’s nice to discuss because that’s how we build our character and form an informed idea. Unfortunately, comments on social media makes you  think that everyone is an expert. From doctors to engineers, from builders to architects…

Basically every profession imaginable! Those who sit at home behind the computer screen commenting seem to be experts in everything. But are they really?

The selection of the sixteen  final songs from eighty songs was made by professional juries composed of Professor Manwel Mifsud, Mr. Trevor Zahra, Mr. Walter Micallef, Dr. Anna Borg Cardona, Mr Noel D’Anastasi, Mr George Cassola, Dr Corazón Mizzi and Mr Justin Galea

The 44th edition of the L-Għanja tal-Poplu festival will be broadcast live on TVM on Friday 11 September. The special guest of this festival will be Philip Vella who won last year’s festival. The presenters of the festival are siblings Dorothy and Gianluca Bezzina.
